Notes:

You must have your Texas CDL Permit prior to starting Phase One. We will provide you
with the training materials needed to study for the 4 Written CDL Permit Tests.
During Phase One, you are expected to be on the yard every day Monday through
Friday during training hours. (confirming these hours)
During Phase One, it is only paid for up to 4 weeks. If it takes longer than 4 weeks, you’re welcome to keep training on the yard, but it will not be paid beyond 4 weeks.
After Phase One, you will take your Texas CDL exam. Those who pass on their first try will receive a $250 bonus.
After you pass the Texas CDL exam, you will get your CDL and will move on to Phase Two

2. Preparation

We will provide you with the materials you need to study and prepare for the 4 written CDL permit tests, which you must pass in order to start the training program

3. Begin Training

Work 1-on-1 with an experienced instructor while you learn how to drive a semi truck. You'll get practice with the necessary components of your CDL exam along with experience hauling freight.

After you complete our driver training program, you will continue your on-the-job training at Bulkley Trucking as one of OTR Team Truck Drivers!

6. Hit the Road

After you pass your CDL exam, you'll continue with a trainer/coach for 3 weeks after which you will be assigned a team trainer who will work with you for 3 weeks to master backing, trip planning, paperwork, HOS, and driving skills.

5. Complete Training

Once you are finished with your training, you will return to the Bulkley Trucking HQ to take your state CDL exam. Those who pass on their first try will receive a $250 bonus.

4. Skills Test

Phase One: Training on Yard

Pay: $450/week

Duration: 4 weeks

Total: $450/week * 4 weeks = $1,800

Phase Two: Solo Training

Pay: $550/week

Duration: 1 week

Total: $550

Phase Three: Rolling 8s

Pay: $750/week

Duration: 2 weeks

Total: $1,500

Phase Four: Team Training

Pay: $0.42/mile

Assumed mileage: 2,500 miles/week

Duration: 3 weeks

Total Pay from Mileage: 2,500 miles/week * $0.42/mile * 3 weeks = $3,150
